Leadership Role - Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant

Role Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end beneficiation processes, including ore handling, crushing, grinding, classification, dewatering, and tailings management.

The incumbent will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our beneficiation business, ensuring consistent operational excellence, environmental stewardship, and long-term value creation. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the role demands deep technical expertise, proven operational experience, and strong business acumen in managing complex, large-scale mineral processing facilities.

Role & responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Define and execute the long-term strategic vision for the beneficiation operations, aligned with corporate growth plans and market demands.
• Lead the plants master planning, capacity enhancement, modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Ensure optimal integration between the beneficiation plant and upstream (mines) and downstream (pellet or steel) operations.

Process Excellence & Technology Management

• Oversee all aspects of mineral processingcrushing, screening, grinding, hydrocycloning, magnetic separation, filtration, and tailings management.
• Drive continuous improvement in recovery, yield, and throughput by adopting advanced process control and data analytics.
• Collaborate with global technology partners and R&D teams to deploy state-of-the-art beneficiation technologies.

Financial Stewardship & P&L Accountability

• Lead the plants full P&L responsibilities by optimizing operational costs, improving asset utilization, and maximizing value recovery.
• Drive disciplined budgeting, capex management, and financial forecasting in line with business objectives.

Safety, Environment & Regulatory Compliance

• Institutionalize a zero-harm and compliance-first culture with strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and statutory norms.
• Oversee the responsible handling and disposal of tailings, and champion sustainable water and energy use.

People & Organizational Leadership

• Lead a large multidisciplinary team including operations, maintenance, quality, safety, and logistics professionals.
• Build organizational capability through robust talent development, succession planning, and performance management frameworks.
• Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement

• Represent the beneficiation operations at executive committees, board reviews, regulatory forums, and external partnerships.
• Engage actively with government bodies, environmental agencies, community stakeholders, and technology collaborators.

Preferred candidate profile:

Education and Experience

• B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Mineral Processing.
• Minimum 20 to 30 to years of experience in the same industry, with at least 8 to 10 years in CXO-level managing large, integrated beneficiation complexes.
