1.) Work Culture is definitely awesome. 2.) Salary and Appraisals - better than it's Competitors. 3.) Recently, They have started prioritizing Employee Well Being, Career Direction and Skill learning Benefits. 4.) Can learn anything on Udemy. 5.) Supported Employees wfh completely during Covid. Have now introduced Hybrid Work Routine which is good. 6.) A lot depends on what Project you are allocated to . I have been to both good (Supportive Team) and a bad Project (Authoritarian Seniors). So it's your luck but whatever you get , try to learn as much as possible. People are mostly helpful and supportive in Cognizant. That's for sure....Read More

1.) Senior Managers are still the worst breed in Cognizant. They are egotistical and do not actually care about Employee's aspirations w.r.t learning and Project Allocations. Again, Not all of them but yes at least few are there who thinks they are the Kings and can command everyone. 2.) If you want to transition to a latest technology , you can always enroll courses but getting that technology's project is almost impossible. Again, IN spite of Company's Policy to promote people if any better opportunity is available within Cognizant, these self absorbed Senior Managers do not want to go through the hassle to allocate the resources as per their wishes. Anyway, Situation is same in every service based company. 3.) If you are in a good learning project, it is possible that your work life balance may get hampered due to shifts and sometimes priority issues but again it is common everywhere. 4.) The Payroll department needs to improve with proactive allocation of shifts pay. I literally had to follow up for a month for night shift amount with them. Had to talk to different managers to get their approval. Such a mess. 4.) I have seen mostly support projects in Cognizant. It could be my experience but in some domains, Cognizant is doing really good....Read More

It's a typical IT service company. Laid back culture, typical service cultured management. Abundant onsite opportunities, less technical work (more support work). Job is secured as long as you are billable to the client. I was mostly at onsite during my tenure with Cognizant, so never faced any issues as it never felt like I was working with Cognizant.

Dislikes

Not so transparent compensation policies if you are at onsite, you will not know what your India CTC is, unless you move back to India from onsite. HRs not so friendly. Rating process is typically the same like across the other IT service companies, fake and bogus. Your quality or quantity of work has nothing to do with the rating you will score.

Work culture is chilled and nobody is bothered about most of the activities now due to WFH

Dislikes

Salary is poor. Work hours is a minimum of 9+1 i.e. 9 hours billable to client and one hour of your lunch and miscellaneous. Organization is not employee friendly and doesn't listen to employees leading to high attrition. Additionally you are hired with one role and responsibilities but end up doing something else. Managers too are either too powerful or very powerless!
