Higher officials politics: if you are close with the leads and managers you will get higher ratings even though you didn't perform well. Working hours: 10 hours including 1 hr break time. Work Life balance is not possible if you are married and having kids. Learning target will be set, even though they know you can't complete it. Goals set to employees are not acceptable because scores are determined based on the the activities like automation, innovation, account level activities, organization level activities, learnings, business idea or suggestions you provide, compliance, leaves only one item is about the project delivery, if you didn't perform well on the project deliverables and you did all other activities, you will get higher ratings. Travel management - Cab registeration requires approval from the account managers you are assigned, No cabs for general shift 9 to 7. Work from office - it depends on the project your are in, even though it is possible to work from home, you may be forced to work from office all 5 days in a week. Bench period policy is very bad. Once you are on bench it's very difficult to get the project and billable. Management will not support they instead ask ask us to find the project and get billable assignment.

Worst project team. No guidence from team Leader/Manager/sr. Manager/SDM for future projects or On how to be future ready. Exit process is very bad. Still yet to recieve full n final settlement documents after 13 months. Overall, not recommended at all for freshers if you want to learn.

Need to work more than 11 hrs a day. No allowance for weekend support. there's no cab facility. Less insurance amount. Very very less annual hike (1 % to 5%) There are no dine out programs and team building activities. Always work work work. Sometimes need to work on weekends too. Promotions are very tuff. Hike and the ratings are absolutely worse as they compare with your peers and downgrade stating as normalisation. I got downgraded twice and was told both the times as next time will take care but useless. Absolutely zero appreciation of hard work here. Max 2 years and then switch.

Most of the senior mgmt in cognizant are old , stubborn, egoistic and obnoxious people . They refused to work in teams, they refused to work at par with young associates and they have a very capitalistic mentality - they won't read mails and ask for updated on weekends ! The tools used in CTS are outdated and buggy making the work very very slow

-Its a big organization and there are bureaucracy. But still the process are smooth (Yes, there are delays here & there which is expected) - You have the flexibility to work from any cognizant location you desire (Depends upon some project too) - I personally didn't have any problems availing leaves, which is one of the few things I really appreciate.

- Favoritism ( u will get every opportunity if u are an a** licker) - No scope for growth (If you ambitious, even a little bit do not join this organization. The promotion & salary hikes are horrible) - Leadership team is pathetic. If push comes to shove, they will throw you under the bus and will not hesitate. It is good for beginners, avoid going into support project as they will make you work even on your sick days off. And HR wont help in this case either.

Dislikes

Work-life balance is close to non-existant. Really poor promotion cycles. No help from anyone if the project shuts down, you will have to look for another one on your own , else they will remove you. Used to pay fairly but is now as good as literally any other company like TCS, Infosys in terms of both work quality and compensation. No real way to move vertically based on merit unlike TCS.

So much of internal politics goes on. My manager has pulled her brother into the same project and he has been been promoted to associate within very time irrespective of his work. His work quality is very poor. And during client meeting also, he was not able to convey his deliverables properly. The client was not at all satisfied and irrespective of all this he got promotion this time.
