If you get a good project, the clients are great. You get to interact with them on a daily basis and they are not too pushy.

Dislikes

The management 1. They give very minimal hike and during your appraisal cycle they change your PeM. The new PeM don't even know what my rating is and doesn't even discuss about it. In my 3 yrs with IBM I had discussion after I put my papers only as it coincides with Appraisal Cycle. And in 3 years I got 1 hike only. Rest of the time due to PeM change, I couldn't even know the reason for 0 hike. 2. Work Life balance - they say they have rules about having a strict work life balance. They have some unnecessary processes which take away most of your time. 3. Manager interaction - I would say 0. They have some internal politics and they just give least benifits to hardest working person. 4. Rewards and recognition - when you are doing a tough project, they will be like this guy is putting so much effort. We have to give him something and they give 1000-2000 just to motivate. Once the project is done, no appreciation, no mail mentioning the work done. Nothing 5. Retention - they do politics here as well. They told whatever you get we will match. But when I went with the request of my expectations. They didn't even bother and said maximum we can give 40%. Once you put paper don't look back. 6. GDP and PA- they have to distribute the amount within the team equally. TL is paid less than rest of the team. And most of the time it is chillar I have put in way too much work for my Hike percent. 1. No monitoring on people instead allowing them to complete their work peacefully (but, few cases depending on project) 2. Location flexibility - if project location is flexible, you can work from any IBNM's location. 3. Skill development - There is so many opportunities to develop our skills through certification, free learning platforms 4. Company culture is very nice. Dislikes

1. One and only thing is there is no project assignment system or workforce management system to assign projects based on your skills. Exception: if we have good skills and if we know how to look next assignment, there could be possibility to avoid above concern. Otherwise IBM always good choice.

Job security - there are so many projects. If you are on bench then don't worry if you have skills.

Dislikes

There is nothing like annual/yearly appraisal. You can be on same package for 4 years no matter how hard you work. They will only point out for "out of the box like independently developed some AI toll or equivalent to it" thing and at this point you will loose the battle. If you are okay to get yearly 1-2% hike on overall package then only you should join

IBM is very good company and will have work life balance ( and its also depands on project). Appraisals are also good (which is depends on your peoples manager). But my suggestion is go with good package yo ibm.

If u are having higher band it will be difficult to get projects. If u are not in project no job security.

This company is worst. They remove the employees ruthlessly after 2 months bench.they don't have projects. Recruiting more people and layoff more. No.1 is layoffs. Worst company

We can learn many things in that company as they have given free access for all learning platform. It totally depends on you how u utilise it.

Dislikes

I don’t have idea about other projects inside the company, but the project which I was working was a low budget project then too those managers were not living that project and it was a worst project , as I am a fresher it was not good to start Carrer like that.
