I chose Genpact over another offer purely because it was closer to home, and it turned out to be a huge mistake. The company’s claims of winning an "employee choice award" feel completely undeserved—if anything, it seems like a bought recognition because the reality is far from positive. Extremely Poor Work Environment: The softwaretools are outdated and unreliable, frequently disconnecting. Management’s response is to simply expect us to keep working without fixing the issues or providing support. Micromanagement is suffocating. Every small mistake is magnified, and employees are constantly reprimanded, creating a toxic atmosphere. There is no proper training. New hires with zero compliance experience are thrown into impossible targets with no guidance, leading to frustration and burnout. The workload is overwhelming, with constant pressure and threats of disciplinary action if targets are not met. Even senior staff are overwhelmed and unable to help. Unacceptable Office Conditions: Employees are forced to come to the office regardless of severe weather warnings, with zero transportation support. The so-called cafeteria is non-functional—no food, no basic amenities like cups for tea. The office environment is poorly maintained: lights and air conditioning are often turned off when fewer people are present, floors are dirty, and the network is painfully slow and unreliable. Personal phones are banned at desks and must be locked away, which is inconvenient and unnecessary. Compensation and Benefits Are Disappointing: Salary is the only thing you can count on; bonuses and hikes are rarely given or are withheld unfairly. For example, I received a bonus letter but was not paid because I was serving notice, despite working full hours. Saturday work is mandatory and unpaid. Shifts often stretch to 12 hours or more, starting late and ending very late. Leave requests are routinely denied, including weekends and public holidays, forcing employees to work without proper rest. Compensation is low compared to others at higher levels, which is demoralizing. Final Thoughts: If you are new to compliance, expect a very short and stressful tenure here due to the lack of support and unrealistic expectations.
